Upcoming Talk:

Designing The Future of Feeling

IDSA - IDC 2026

In this talk, the author of Soft Design explores an emerging approach to design lead by emotional aesthetics and sensory design. The next wave of innovation isn't just about faster and or smarter technologies alone but about how they enable feelings. As materials become responsive, interactive, programmable and soft, design shifts from visual and tactile interfaces to multi-sensory experiences that connect with people at an emotional level.

Our body becomes a new design space to create meaningful aesthetic experiences that feel natural, intuitive, and profoundly human. Modern technology is dominated by screens, and traditional action-reaction interfaces.

The new design approach incorporates broader levels of experiencing, beyond the traditional five senses to include elements like vibration, illumination, sound and temperature. Besides solving functional problems, designers are called on to connect at a deeper human level, to create new interactions that are unexpected, intangible, magical and sublime.
